Seeing 2020 in 20-20

Needless to say, 2020 has been a year like no other. COVID-19 has affected the daily lives and life-long plans of people around the globe. In addition to a seemingly endless pandemic, the United States alone has faced increasing environmental concerns, nationwide protests regarding police brutality and a monumental presidential election, alongside countless personal, national and global phenomena. This website aims to look back on 2020, take a dive into key events and unveil their effects.

As a chance to reflect and come to terms with this year, students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UW-Madison were directed to create stories on areas they feel affected them most throughout the past year. From social justice to social media, this site covers just a few of the major moments from 2020. As you interact with these stories, feel free to reflect on the past 12 months and their accompanying experiences.

While it may have not been necessarily enjoyable, 2020 changed all of our lives. This website encourages you to take a look at 2020 with 20/20 vision.
